Notice to Reader

The Corporations Act requires that a not-for-profit organization, such as the Ontario Workplace Health Coalition (OWHC), conduct an annual audit. The organization is exempt from this requirement regarding the appointment and duties of an auditor if:

a. the company is not a public company;

b. the annual income of the company is less than $100,000; and

c. all of the shareholders consent in writing to the exemption in respect of the year.

At the September 14, 2009, OWHC Annual General Meeting, Resolution # 7 was passed to accept a Notice to Reader in lieu of an audit.

Given that we meet the first two conditions for exemption, as well as due to the limited OWHC financial resources, and minimal number of OWHC financial transactions, we are asking that OWHC members consent in writing to exempt the OWHC from an annual audit, and instead agree to a Notice to Reader.

IMPORTANT: Whether you’re purchasing an Individual, Organizational or Student membership the provision of your name and completion of your registration as above, is your consent and agreement to the Ontario Workplace Health Coalition (OWHC) conducting a Notice to Reader instead of an annual audit for the current fiscal year. This consent and agreement also includes the names of those included with those purchasing an Organizational membership.

If you have further questions about your membership, please contact the OWHC Secretariat by emailing contact@owhc.ca.

Thank you for your continued support. By proceeding with registration and payment you are accepting the notice above.
